Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic school in Bermondsey. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of GCSE curriculum delivery and a willingness to work with students who may require additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English Language and Literature to students from Year 7 to Year 11, preparing them for GCSE exams.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring they achieve their academic potential.
- Provide support for students with SEN, using differentiated teaching methods and resources to ensure inclusion in the classroom.
- Work closely with the SENCO and other teaching staff to develop and implement individual learning plans for students with specific needs.
- Assess and track students’ progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and motivated to succeed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong background in teaching English at secondary level.
- Experience working with SEN students, including some understanding of strategies for differentiating lessons for those with learning difficulties.
- Passionate about teaching English and committed to ensuring all students reach their full potential, regardless of challenges they may face.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
