- Working closely with class teachers to support classroom activities, learning routines, and communication development
- Providing tailored 1:1 or small group support based on individual EHCPs and learning goals
- Using strategies to support emotional regulation, social interaction, and self-help skills
- Assisting in the delivery of therapeutic programmes such as physio and occupational therapy, as advised by external professionals
- Supporting pupils in mainstream integration activities, off-site trips, hydrotherapy, and swimming (in-water support if needed)
- Maintaining pupil dignity, confidentiality, and safety at all times by following school safeguarding and health & safety policies
- Taking part in behaviour support plans and being prepared to receive training in positive behaviour strategies and physical intervention techniques if required
- Being flexible to help with classroom setup, resource organisation, and cleaning of equipment
You Must Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN, complex care, or additional learning needs
- A calm, compassionate approach and a genuine desire to help young people grow and achieve
- Confidence in supporting or delivering personal care and medical routines (full training provided)
- A team spirit and willingness to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
- Commitment to inclusive education, high expectations for all pupils, and professional development
We Offer:
- The chance to work in a specialist setting where your contribution is truly valued
- A structured induction and ongoing professional training including safeguarding, moving & handling, and positive behaviour support
- A supportive, close-knit team and senior leadership who prioritise wellbeing and collaboration
- Real opportunities to grow your career in SEN education or social care
