Our client in the London borough of Hackney is looking for a Girl’s PE teacher to start with them immediately. This school is fit with a great management system, they see progression within their staff’s career as a must. The right candidate for this role will have a helpful head of department and supportive colleagues.
The schools need for a female in this role as it an occupational requirement under paragraph 1 of schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 because there is a requirement to supervise female changing rooms and showers as part of the role.
The successful candidate must have experience of teaching acrois ss a range of key stages, with the ability to raise student achievement and add value to the PE curriculum, as well as knowledge and understanding of the current Sports Science specifications at Key Stage 4/5.
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching your subject is essential. This role requires an outstanding and confident classroom practitioner of Physical Education who can demonstrate the very highest standards of teaching.
• To be responsible for teaching pupils according to their educational needs mainly in the area(s) of PE & Sports Science
• To consider advice and to follow the direction given by the Head of the relevant Department(s) and Senior Staff
• To plan and prepare courses and lessons, using a variety of teaching methods, and to provide written/oral feedback on class and homework, in accordance with the scheme of work.
• To assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils, maintaining accurate records and using the information to inform teaching and learning.
• To endeavor to establish a good rapport with classes and to encourage good practice about punctuality, behavior, standards of work, and homework (according to school policy).
• To attend departmental meetings.
• To participate in the development of appropriate syllabuses, materials, and reviews of schemes of work and policies. To contribute to the department’s improvement plan and its implementation.
