The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design Technology Teacher specializing in Resistant Materials to join our forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and innovative lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop practical skills, critical thinking, and a passion for design and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Resistant Materials and Design Technology to a range of abilities.
- Develop and implement creative and effective schemes of work that meet curriculum requirements.
- Support students in completing practical projects, encouraging innovation and precision.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development of the DT department, sharing best practices and resources.
- Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and a degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Resistant Materials, including woodwork, metalwork, and associated techniques and tools.
- Passion for teaching and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
