SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with autism, using evidence-based approaches.
You will work closely with experienced staff to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development, using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behaviour (VB) strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Implement and support learning programmes based on ABA and VB approaches
- Assist in managing behaviour in a positive, structured manner
- Support the development of communication, social, and independence skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Monitor and record student progress
Requirements
- A degree in Psychology or a related field
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism
- Practical knowledge or experience of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and VB (Verbal Behaviour) approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
