Senior Science Technician
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, and experienced Senior Science Technician to lead and support the practical and technical requirements of our dynamic and forward-thinking Science Department.
About the Role:
As Senior Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning by ensuring that science laboratories are well-prepared, safe, and effectively resourced. You will oversee a small team of technicians and work closely with teaching staff to support practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Key Responsibilities:

Organising, preparing, and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons

Ensuring laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and safety

Managing stock control, ordering resources, and maintaining equipment

Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, including COSHH regulations

Supporting and supervising a team of science technicians

Assisting in the development of practical resources and demonstrations
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience as a science technician, ideally within a school environment

Strong subject knowledge across all science disciplines

A good understanding of relevant health and safety procedures

Excellent organisation, time management, and teamwork skills

A proactive approach and the ability to work independently

Relevant qualifications (e.g. science-related degree, NVQ Level 3 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities or equivalent)
