About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEMH Primary Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive school team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate teacher to work with primary-aged children who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing tailored support, creating a positive learning environment, and helping students build their social and emotional skills to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEMH students.
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, using a variety of strategies to help manage behaviour and promote positive outcomes.
- Foster a nurturing and safe classroom environment where students feel valued and respected.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support.
- Assess and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as needed.
- Promote social and emotional development through targeted activities and individual learning plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies for SEMH students.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and support staff to ensure students’ well-being and academic success.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH needs.
- Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with SEMH challenges.
- A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- A passion for supporting vulnerable children and helping them succeed.
