Located in West London, we are proud of our dynamic Design and Technology department and are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology Technician to support our team starting September 2025.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of practical lessons in our well-equipped Design and Technology workshops. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials and equipment, maintain machinery, ensure a safe learning environment, and help students with practical work where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons across a range of DT disciplines (e.g., Product Design, Textiles, Resistant Materials)

• Maintain and ensure the safe use of tools, machinery, and workshop areas in line with health and safety regulations

• Support teachers and students during lessons and projects

• Organise and manage resources and stock levels

• Carry out routine maintenance of tools and equipment

• Provide technical support for extra-curricular clubs or coursework where needed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A background or qualification in Design and Technology, engineering, or a related field

• Practical knowledge of workshop tools and equipment (including CAD/CAM, 3D printing, laser cutting, etc.)

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures in a school workshop environment

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• A proactive, flexible attitude and ability to work well in a team

• Previous experience in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential
