Role Overview:
As Deputy SENCO, you will work closely with our SENCO to develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and planning interventions for students requiring additional support. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies will be essential to ensure that each student’s individual needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and coordination of the Special Educational Needs provision within the school.
Support the identification and assessment of students with special educational needs.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
Collaborate with teaching staff to provide guidance and resources for inclusive teaching practices.
Liaise with parents, external agencies, and relevant professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to SEN reviews and reports.
Requirements:
Qualified teacher status (QTS) with substantial experience in special educational needs.
Sound knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to lead and support colleagues in implementing effective strategies for SEN students.
Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN.
Salary: £40,000-£60,000
