Design & Technology Teachers Needed – Secondary Schools in South East & South West London
ABOUT THE ROLE
Forward-thinking secondary schools across South East and South West London are seeking innovative Design & Technology Teachers to deliver DT across KS3–KS4 (specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics or Engineering welcomed). You’ll help students design, create and evaluate functional products in safe, well-resourced workshop environments.
This role suits:
✔ experienced DT teachers
✔ ECTs with strong portfolio work and placements
✔ industry professionals with DT teaching experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver practical and theory DT lessons (KS3–KS4)
Teach core skills in design, modelling, making and evaluation
Ensure safe use and maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear feedback
Support coursework / NEA projects and GCSE preparation
Contribute to curriculum development and STEM/DT projects
REQUIREMENTS
✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS in Design & Technology (or related subject)
✔ Strong subject knowledge in at least one DT specialism
✔ Confident with workshop health & safety and risk assessments
✔ Experience in UK secondary schools (or strong training experience)
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one)
✔ Right to work in the UK
✔ Available full-time, Monday to Friday
PAY & BENEFITS
£165–£225 per day (depending on experience and specialism)
