Curriculum Delivery:

Teach English Language and Literature to students aged 11–16 (Key Stages 3 and 4), and sometimes Key Stage 5 (A-levels).

Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and exam board requirements (e.g., AQA, Edexcel).

Assessment and Feedback:

Mark and assess students’ work using school and national standards.

Prepare students for GCSEs and/or A-levels through mock exams, feedback sessions, and revision strategies.

Student Development:
-
Support literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.
-
Identify students who need additional support (e.g., EAL, SEN) and adapt teaching accordingly.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Implement behavior policies and support student wellbeing.

Professional Responsibilities:

Attend departmental meetings, training, and parents’ evenings.

Engage in continuous professional development (CPD).

Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to wider school life.

Skills & Qualifications

A UK-recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or QTS).

A degree in English or a related subject.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Familiarity with UK educational standards and safeguarding requirements.
