Principal Education is currently recruiting for a Teacher of Spanish Language and Spanish Literature on behalf of a high-performing independent international school in Southwest London. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position on a fixed-term contract, starting 15 April 2026 and ending 24 June 2026.
The successful candidate will join a well-established and supportive World Languages department, delivering engaging Spanish lessons within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme to students in Grades 6–11 (Years 7–12).
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate languages teacher who is committed to inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of Spanish language, literature, and culture, while fostering analytical thinking and critical discussion skills.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Spanish Language and Spanish Literature lessons across Years 7–12

Teach and support the IB MYP and IB Diploma Spanish Language Acquisition and Literature programmes

Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and cultural understanding

Differentiate teaching to support students with a range of learning needs and language backgrounds

Embed IB Approaches to Learning (ATL) within lessons and student activities

Work collaboratively with colleagues within the World Languages department and wider school community

Contribute to departmental initiatives, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary projects

Support enrichment activities including clubs, trips, and open day presentations
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

A degree in Spanish or a related subject

QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

Experience teaching Spanish Language and/or Spanish Literature

The ability to deliver engaging and student-centred lessons

Strong communication and organisational skills

A genuine enthusiasm for promoting Spanish language and culture

Experience teaching within the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum (desirable)
