Teacher of Health & Social Care (KS4 & KS5) | South London
The Role
We are seeking to appoint a qualified and committed Teacher of Health & Social Care to deliver high-quality provision at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 within a successful secondary school with sixth form. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a rigorous, well-sequenced curriculum that supports strong outcomes and positive progression for all learners.
This post would suit an experienced Health & Social Care teacher or a practitioner with strong vocational expertise and the ability to teach confidently across both secondary and post-16 phases.
Key Responsibilities

Teach Health & Social Care at KS4 and KS5, including BTEC or equivalent vocational qualifications

Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with curriculum intent and awarding-body requirements

Assess and internally verify coursework in accordance with quality-assurance procedures

Track and analyse student progress, implementing effective intervention strategies

Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement

Contribute to enrichment activities, tutorials, and post-16 progression support

Maintain accurate academic, assessment, and safeguarding records
Person Specification
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised Post-16 teaching qualification

Experience teaching Health & Social Care at KS4 and/or KS5

Secure understanding of vocational assessment frameworks and internal verification

Ability to create purposeful, professional learning environments across age ranges

Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
