Role Overview:
As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Biology across Key Stages 3 to 5. We are looking for an individual who can deliver engaging and effective lessons that stimulate curiosity and foster a deep understanding of the subject. You will work collaboratively with the Science Department to develop innovative teaching strategies and contribute to the continued success of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Ensure lessons cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, promoting achievement and progress for all
- Develop and implement effective schemes of work and assessment strategies
- Inspire students with a love for Biology and encourage them to pursue the subject beyond school
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Contribute to extracurricular activities related to Science, such as clubs, trips, or enrichment opportunities
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and stimulating curriculum across the Science Department
Person Specification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Biology or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Biology
- Experience teaching Biology at KS4 and KS5, with a track record of excellent student outcomes
- Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
