Mentor | Canary Wharf PRU | Male Student 1:1 SEMH

A Pupil Referral Unit in Canary Wharf is searching for a Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a student with SEMH needs. The student is 15 years old with minor emotional behaviour issues, and he will need a strong supporting role model.

The PRU has been open for over 10 years with a management team that holds over 50+ years experience. The team is well-run and overly supportive, offering training, courses and pastoral meetings for staff.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

To monitor, record and review the progress of individual students and to share information with relevant staff and parents/carers
To provide information advice and guidance to specific students and their parents/carers.
To be a key worker for identified students and liaise with Grange staff and external agencies to support academic and personal progress.
To plan and deliver intervention programs to a small cohort of students to develop their social and emotional skills – tracking and evidencing progress.
To plan and deliver elements of supportive interventions e.g. anger management
To work with other Inclusion colleagues to provide ‘out of the classroom learning experiences.
To facilitate, where appropriate, extra-curricular activities to engage and motivate students.
To support the inclusive ethos of the school.

Been a behaviour mentor for 4 years and I've been unlucky enough to have only worked with jai bance for the past 3 months. In those 3 months he's managed to get me my current highest paying roll as a temp & secured me a contract within my first school working with principle. In general I'm not a big fan of recruitment agencies as they often only view candidates as a pound note but these guys know the roles (in detail so your not walking blind) support you through the many challenges you will face as a temporary worker but most importantly the pays fair and its always payed on time.
